OPENVIEW ACHIEVES IATP MEMBERSHIP
The health and safety of our employees is paramount to us here at OpenView, and one of the biggest risks that our field based employees face in their role is Asbestos Exposure.
We have always adhered to our obligations as an employer and provided our employees with the necessary training under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Historically, this has been carried out face-to-face by an external training provider, however when surveyed, a large proportion of our employees asked why this course could not be completed online in a similar way to other companies. The downside to this has always been that by purchasing an ‘off the shelf’ online asbestos awareness course, our field based colleagues wouldn’t get the benefit of the course being OpenView specific.
However, we listened to our employees requests and we are delighted to announce that we have developed our own internal OpenView Asbestos Awareness (CAT A) course, which is an online course and has been audited and approved by The IATP (The Independent Asbestos Training Providers). It has the benefit of addressing all of the risks and hazards that come with working near asbestos, but in a way that is specific to how OpenView field-based employees may be affected.
This is a big step forward in our learning and development offering and will allow us to continue to put our employees health and safety first.
